MG Motor will bring its upcoming M9 EV to India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit and assemble it at its manufacturing facility in Gujarat. This strategy offers a cost advantage, as CKD imports attract lower duties compared to Completely Built Units (CBUs), allowing the company to price the M9 EV more competitively. The electric vehicle is expected to carry an ex-showroom price between Rs 65 lakh and Rs 75 lakh.

Along with opening the bookings, the company has also revealed that the EV luxury MPV will feature presidential seats. Essentially, individual second-row seats are styled after business-class airline seating. These come with 16-way power adjustment, eight massage functions, as well as heating and ventilation. The MPV also includes a dual panoramic sunroof with a yacht-inspired design, a 64-colour ambient lighting setup, and a 12-speaker audio system. Buyers can choose between pure black or cognac brown interior trims.
