Following the massive success of Saiyaara, Aneet Padda has catapulted to overnight stardom.
But the young actress seems to have had a clear vision for her career trajectory. At just 22, she appears keen to break free from being typecast in romantic roles. Interestingly, even before Saiyaara became a box office phenomenon, Aneet had already signed on for a gritty courtroom drama.
YRF is known for binding its actors to a 3-film deal, but Aneet Padda’s next is going to be a courtroom drama titled Nyaya alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh and Arjun Mathur, which is a non-YRF project.
According to PeepingMoon, the series was shot last year and is now poised for release on a major OTT platform.

Nayaya will navigate through uncomfortable crossroads between blind faith, systemic power, and the legal system. Fatima Sana Shaikh steps into the role of a tough, principled police officer who refuses to bow down to pressure, while rising star Aneet Padda portrays a courageous 17-year-old girl who dares to speak up against a revered spiritual guru after surviving sexual assault.
Backed by Sameer Nair’s Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Mangata Films, Nyaya is helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Nitya Mehra, known for her work on Baar Baar Dekho and Made in Heaven alongside her husband and creative partner, Karan Kapadia. The directing duo reunites with Aneet Padda, following their successful collaboration on Amazon Prime Video’s Big Girls Don’t Cry last year.
