Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 release date – launch time and early patch notes for Tour de Inferno update

Zenless Zone Zero is bracing itself for the launch of its Tour de Inferno update, and it's got a lot to offer.

It hasn’t been long since the launch of the 1.1 Underground RNB update for Zenless Zone Zero, but once again it looks like HoYoverse is looking to give its latest arrival a little more love. The game is already as polished as a live-service game that has been around for years, with immensely tight combat and a huge roster of characters for players to try their luck in gacha rolls for, and it already stands alongside Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail as an anime-style banger. But, though the game has a similar approach to microtransactions as Honkai Star Rail’s Banners, Zenless Zone Zero does need to offer actual playable content to keep players busy. Enter; the 1.2 update.

The Tour de Inferno update is coming soon, and it’s set to serve as the main stage for the next chapter of the game’s story, introducing the new Outer Ring area of New Eridu along with new time and stamina systems. It could be a major shake-up for the game, as well as bringing a few new characters for players to try their luck at bagging.

It has to launch first, though, and it looks like we won’t be waiting too long for this new bout of content from HoYoverse. Here’s when to expect the Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 release date.

Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 release date

The Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 release date is Tuesday, September 24, HoYoverse has confirmed to Mirror Gaming. Server downtime is expected to hit at 11pm BST / 6pm EDT / 3pm PDT on this day, in line with the timings of the 1.1 Underground DNB update, and if downtime is to last as long as five hours, we can expect that the game will return at 4am BST on Wednesday, September 25, or 11pm EDT / 8pm PDT on Tuesday, September 24. This is all the same update structure that Zenless Zone Zero followed with its 1.1 update, and it’s our best place to estimate a time to jump back into the game.

Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 early patch notes

Zenless Zone Zero 1.2 is set to introduce plenty for players to do, including new battlefields and new friends. Here’s everything that has been revealed to be coming to the update so far, as per on the official YouTube channel:

• The new Outer Ring location, featuring new encounters

• New Characters from the Sons of Calydon biker gang, including Caesar and Burnice, and Bangboo Red Moccus

• New W-Engines

• New roguelike shooter arcade game Bizarre Brigade at Godfinger

• Optimizations for the TV mode

• Squad presets

• A new shop, the 141 Friendship Fair

• Time and stamina systems to be implemented into core gameplay

• More events, including one titled Overlord’s Feast

There’s plenty to look forward to in the game, as it seems to keep churning out more content than players can manage. To barely be finished with everything offered by the Underground RNB update and be met with even more to look forward to in Tour de Inferno is a real joy, and it pushes Zenless Zone Zero up into the upper echelons of HoYoverse’s ongoing work. It’s easy to see how fans get so hooked.
