Perrie Edwards 'tried to dump Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain' but he had cunning plan

Perrie Edwards once reportedly tried to break up with her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before going on tour with Little Mix.

The 31-year-old musician and her beau Alex got engaged two years ago and have been planning for their wedding ever since. They have their plans on lockdown but have not yet set a proper date as they're keen for their toddler Axel to be old enough to understand the festivities.

Meanwhile, Perrie has also been focused on her solo career. Her single Forget About Us was released in April and her other track, Tears, came out in June. And now, fans have You Go Your Way to look forward to on October 4. According to sources, she will be singing about her relationship with Alex.

They claimed Perrie once considered ending her relationship with the former Liverpool football star before heading on tour with her group - which consisted of her, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson. The insider claimed: "You Go Your Way is about how Perrie asked Alex for a break before going on tour with Little Mix."

“At the time they were still not official. Perrie thought due to the distance, they should go their own way and hopefully find each other in the future," they told The Sun. However, the footballer "hated the idea" and made their relationship "official then and there". The Mirror have contacted Perrie's reps for comment.

Earlier in the summer, Perrie opened up about her wedding while chatting with an Aussie radio station. She said: "I feel like we've already planned it. In our minds we know, and we talk about it a lot Alex more so than me actually which is really cute because he wants it to pop off.

"He wants a party, a performer, he wants it to be a big thing. I'm like, I know who I want as bridesmaids and this and that. It's all kind of set in stone but we haven't actually planned it yet. There's a lot going on in my life right now, I've got so much. We've said about waiting for Axel to be older and then he can be a pageboy or whatever. It makes more sense."

Despite launching two solo tracks, 'Forget About Us' and 'Tears', the ex-Little Mix member isn't rushing her album's completion. She explained: "I'm annoying but I'm still working on things. You get one chance, and it has to be perfect. I feel like it is done but there's little tweaks I want to do still. I will get there; it will definitely be pre-order this year I think."
