Liverpool to gift Chelsea huge windfall from next transfer as Arne Slot eyes Premier League star

Chelsea could pocket millions from Liverpool's next transfer. The Reds have already forked out over £200m this summer, welcoming lots of new faces to Anfield, but they've shown no sign of slowing down.

Liverpool started the transfer window by wrapping up a move for Armin Pecsi, signing the 20-year-old goalkeeper from Puskas Akademia for just £3m. Then, the Premier League champions jetted off to Germany and prised Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

With Arne Slot eager to find a replacement for Andy Robertson, who has recently entered the final year of his contract, the Reds headed to the south coast of England. Earlier this week, Liverpool signed Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, taking their total spend for the summer to £216m.

The Reds also secured the signature of Freddie Woodman, who will join on a free transfer at the end of the month. Giorgi Mamardashvili will also join Slot's squad - Liverpool signed the Valencia shot-stopper for just £29m in August 2024 before sending him back to the Spanish outfit on loan.

Now, the new Premier League champions appear to have turned their attention to Marc Guehi. According to The Mirror, Chelsea will be owed millions if Liverpool sign the Crystal Palace captain, who has a £70m price tag.

The report reckons that the Blues inserted a 20 per cent sell-on clause when they allowed Guehi to join the Eagles for £18m in July 2021. It's said that the England international, who has recently entered the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park, is expected to leave this summer.

The Mirror indicate that Liverpool are unlikely to meet Palace's asking price - with a £40m offer mooted as a 'more likely middle-ground'. If the Eagles were to accept such an offer, Chelsea would still pocket £8m.

A windfall for the west Londoners could, in turn, allow them to make a few more additions this summer. Chelsea began the window by confirming the arrivals of Mamadou Sarr and Dario Essugo, who had both signed long-term contracts earlier in the year.

Then, the Blues wrapped up a deal for Liam Delap, signing the 22-year-old striker from Ipswich Town for just £30m. Chelsea have also added Andrey Santos to their squad - with Estevao Willian expected to follow after the ongoing Club World Cup.

Jamie Gittens looks set to be the next new face at Stamford Bridge. The Borussia Dortmund winger has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer as Enzo Maresca looks to bolster his options on the left wing.

football.london understands that the Blues have verbally agreed personal terms with Gittens, who's understood to be very keen on a switch to Stamford Bridge. The England Under-21 international would provide Chelsea with some much needed cover, with Mykhailo Mudryk suspended and Jadon Sancho now back at Manchester United.
