His death was announced in a statement from the family. They shared: "Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him."

The talented producer worked on Michael Jackson's Thriller album. He arranged records for Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald and compared the soundtracks for Roots and In the Heat of the Night. During their chat, Mike revealed what he called Princess Anne. He shared: "Ma'am. Ma'am, not mum." Susanna added: "You're used to hanging out with the Royals, so it's normal for you to be in and in the drawing room."

Ed Balls then added, "It's even better he came from Wakefield to Windsor. It's a Prince and Pauper tale for the modern time, isn't it?" Mike replied, "I don't know what to say to that."
