Jon Kay dropped a bombshell on BBC Breakfast this morning, leaving his co-host in shock.
Sally and Jon were back presenting the programme today, discussing the day's top stories and linking up with Carol Kirkwood for the weather forecast. Later on, they were joined by in the studio to talk about rogue traders.
As they welcomed Nina onto the show for her segment, Jon left Sally gobsmacked when he let slip: "Nina's trying to make me do a half marathon with her," causing Sally's jaw to drop.
"Can't believe you've just mentioned that on air. You've said it on the television now which means you'll have to do it! " she exclaimed, to which Jon responded: "I said trying to persuade me not that I'd do it.."
As Jon introduced Nina's rogue traders piece, Sally was seen mouthing to Nina that there was no chance Jon would go through with it. "Are you doubting me? " Jon queried, reports .
Nina then chimed in: "I'm using reverse psychology Sally. If I say he can't do the half marathon, then he'll say he is," to which Sally replied: "I'm worried about him, I don't think he should do it! ".
Jon recently returned to the UK after covering the United States election.
After his final segment in the UK, Sally voiced her concern: "Jon, you still haven't said when you're going to sleep. I am going to worry about you all day now."
All Jon could do was laugh, responding: "I have no idea."
Ben Thompson, standing in, couldn't help but comment: " Pace yourself, it is going to be a long week, we might not see you for a few weeks if it keeps going on and on. Pace yourself, Jon. We will see you soon."
There was a bit of explaining needed when Jon missed out on a group photo.
After posting an image of the beloved morning team, followers were overjoyed, with comments flowing in like: "My favourite Tele gang! The best breakfast team," and another chiming in with deep affection: "The favourite gang."
Jon had quite the tale for his no-show, admitting: "When you organise a get-together for your Breakfast chums. And then realise you organised it on your day off...", which had fans splitting their sides with laughter.
