'Ukraine will win this war': Biden to Zelenskyy while discussing victory plan in war with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Joe Biden and vice president Kamala Harris on Thursday to discuss Ukraine 's Victory Plan as the war with Russia continues.

Zelenskyy thanked the United States for its support since the start of the Russian invasion. He wrote on X, "During the meeting with President Joe Biden, I presented the Victory Plan to him. We discussed details to strengthen the plan, coordinated our positions, views, and approaches, and tasked our teams with holding consultations on the next steps."


President Biden also expressed support for Ukraine on X. "Today, President Zelenskyy and I sat down again to discuss strengthening Ukraine's position on the battlefield and helping Ukraine rebuild stronger than before. Two things are clear: Ukraine will win this war. And the US will continue to stand by them every step of the way."


He stressed the need to protect Ukraine from Russian President Vladimir Putin's aggression and expressed gratitude for US support. "We must end this war and achieve a just peace. We must protect our people - Ukrainian families, Ukrainian children - and everyone from Putin's evil. We are grateful to America for supporting Ukraine throughout this time."

As per the news agency ANI, the meeting at the White House followed the US announcement of a new aid package for Ukraine, including nearly $8 billion in assistance.

The Pentagon released a press statement stating that the Department of Defense (DoD) announced this package and committed an additional $2.4 billion, providing Ukraine with additional air defence, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and air-to-ground munitions.

The assistance is aimed at giving Ukraine the tools needed to combat Russian aggression.
