Vinted scammers are targeting Taylor Swift lovers over VIP merchandise, according to fan reports.

One Swiftie who wanted to warn fellow fans claimed a scammer sold her a VIP merchandise box before wiping their account. In a post shared on a fan group on Facebook, the upset mum said: "Warning be careful who you buy off on Vinted. I bought a VIP box off Vinted for my daughter's birthday and it hasn't arrived now when I click on the sellers name it doesn't exist."

She added: "It's the 1st time I've bought anything off there so not sure how it works, her birthday is soon and I now don't have the gift I wanted her to have to show how thankful I am of her being my rock now I have to wait for refund (...) sorry for the rant I honestly didn't know you could get scammed on Vinted."

In response, fans were quick to try to reassure the parent by explaining how Vinted's refund policy works. Several also shared accounts of similar issues.

One commenter said: "I've had this on Vinted too. I realised it was a scam when it said it had been posted seconds after I bought it (it was 3am!) Then it said the item didn't exist. Seller also had zero reviews. Vinted refunded me."

Another replied: "The same happened to me (...) Just say that you purchased an item, the seller is no longer on Vinted and you believe you have been scammed. They will do a speedy refund."

As per Vinted policies, you're covered with buyer protection when you pay through Vinted. Just press 'I have an issue' in your conversation screen with the seller within 2 days from being notified by Vinted that the item should have been delivered or that the order seems lost, and submit your claim, instructs Vinted.

Buyer protection also applies if you pay through Vinted and your item arrives damaged or it is significantly not as described.

The website adds: "Your order will be completed and the payment will be automatically released to the seller if you miss the 2-day deadline or if you ever hit the Everything is OK button."
